The transfer window closes next Tuesday at 18.00 but the Gills will not be doing any business and Hess has commented to the Club’s official site, “I don't think there will be any movement of players going anywhere, or coming in on a permanent basis”.

Andy continued, “Having said that, we do have to trim the budget at some stage, the monthly wage bill will have to be looked at, before too much longer”.

This is undoubtedly a reference to moving a few players out on loan or ideally being sold although the later option appears remote at this current time. Gills will not have long to wait to try and offload a few players and trim the wage bill as the loan transfer window opens on Wednesday 8 September.

Andy Hessenthaler commented, "If that means we have to move a few players out on loan then we will probably do that. I haven't been able to do much on that front, so far, because we've had so many injuries."

Hopefully Hess will have a full strength squad of players to select from in the near future with the possible exception of Simon King (left) who is not expected to be match fit until February 2011.

However, competition for first team places will be tough and some of the squad might welcome the chance of going out on loan for the chance of regular first team football.

The full Gills squad is below with players names and numbers highlighted that Hess possibly might be considering offloading on loan agreements and, in so doing, trim the monthly Priestfield playing staff wage bill:
